For the clans – Forge Fathers reclaim Starfall
LOCATION : Devil’s Run
COMMANDERS: Unvollkommen vs AI
MISSION : Occupy | GAME SIZE: 200pts
Starfall. A promising planet – rich ressources, good GCPS contacts. A deal almost signed. Then… Containment Protocol.
Ambassador Jugfhelm clenched his fists in frustration. He was so close to leave this stinking dry rock and its smelthead inhabitants.
They would have to evacuate – with the Containment Protocol active, every official star port would be closed down and any lesser race damned to rot on this planet.
The APC carried them through the red dust and rocky outcrops of a region called “Devil’s Run” – infested by Rebellion scum. So far they had only encountered some strange carcasses and the ruins of industrialisation.
Then they had run into a roadblock made of large rocks and car wrecks and had to change their route – right into a abandoned industrial area.
When the APC came to an abrupt halt, the first shots rang out. They had been ambushed!
His armed retinue left the carrier and regrouped behind a rusted workshop, while the ambassador stayed in the relative safety of the APC.
The Forge Guard led the counterattack – taking out one of the attackers from a rooftop. What dropped a few metres down to the floor was not human; nor human shaped – they had been ambushed by the strange creatures called Nameless!
Smoke covered the advance of the attackers, at they closed in to the APC and the precious cargo. Small creatures scuttled through the blueish smoke and some huge silhouettes appeared, too.
Time was running out for the Forge Fathers. The huge beasts had already reached the carrier, hammering with huge clawed fists at the rear armour.
More smoke covered the creatures and the ambassadors retinue had to encounter their foes in close quarters. Tentacled creatures gnawed at mastercrafted armour, while a big scythed creature moved quickly between the combatants to deliver deadly blows.
Everywhere stoic dwarves were falling, creatures of every size hacking, slashing and gnawing at them. With a final effort, the APC made it a few more metres, before the vehicle skidded to an abrupt halt, barely enough to let one lonely figure slip away – as the creatures of the nameless swarmed all over the place.
