Devil’s Run is a small town primarily inhabited by smugglers and Rebs sympathisers. It’s usually hidden from the prying eyes of the GCPS (or they’re happy to ignore its more seedy side for their own gain). However, with the recent incursion by the Nameless, Devil’s Run is now overwhelmed by Strike Teams from the various interested parties on Starfall. Most of it lies in ruins, although there are pockets of intact districts – typically those used by Rebs to hide their resistance forces.

Our troops have made contact with a new hostile. The few transmissions we’ve had describe them as looking like the tentacled horrors known as ‘Nameless’ in the DreadBall leagues. We had been led to believe they were peaceful but these are anything but peaceful.
When their weapons aren’t ripping our soldiers to shreds, their psychic attacks spread panic and fear.

What’s more, we’re not the only interested party on the planet. Small groups of Forge Fathers, Asterians, Marauders, Rebs and more hideous creatures have been spotted on the surface.
The Council of Seven has declared a state of emergency and containment protocols have been initiated while the Enforcers deal with the Nameless threat. No GCPS troops can enter or leave Starfall.
The Council has even toyed with sending in their new drones, although they’re not field tested.

May the Council protect those left on the planet.

Lord Resterfusson, we have arrived on the planet. Our Steel Warriors came under heavy fire the moment we landed but we have suffered only minor losses. The readings were accurate. The Marianans’ technology is more alien than we anticipated, but its power is unprecedented. Even the weather seems to have been twisted by their strange mechanisms. I will continue to report our findings but the priority of recovering as many of their machinery as possible remains. The Artificers have never seen such incredible machinery.

CAMPAIGN GAMEPLAY

Strange energy readings have been reported from Devil’s Run. You need to investigate reports of unusual technology spotted inside the shanty town and gather as much intel on the device as possible.

For this mission you should play the Scour 2.0 mission on Page 12 of the Outbreak supplement, alongside the Environmental Hazards special rules.
